The pandemic created business challenges like never both. One of those challenges was continuing to stay connected, especially in larger companies where Annual Conferences were the norm. This Skills Showcase demonstrates the work Jenni Bowman did this year to help one of her clients.

The Initial Problem

Just Shutters Franchise Business Support Team put on an Annual Conference every year for their franchisees and support colleagues. It is usually a face-to-face event full of learning and inspiration.

The pandemic meant this wasn’t possible and so, when talking with the leadership team about alternative solutions, Jenni volunteered to roll up her sleeves and get stuck in…

Our Solution

Jenni worked alongside Chris Rocker (MD), Livvy Gusman (Marketing Manager) and Sarah Clifford (Showroom Manager) to create an ambitious strategy for the online event and took responsibility for the ‘logistics’ of how they were going to make it happen online.

Jenni created invites, managed RSVPs and collated questions from attendees prior to the event.

Livvy and Jenni worked as a team to plan the running order and timings, and Jenni managed the dress rehearsal including audio and video checks.

Jenni then fully managed the IT element of the event from start to finish which included setting up Zoom for conference functionality rather than a simple call, creating the right settings for attendees, making sure the hosting team had two laptops logged in, in case of IT failure which allowed the host to switch from one to the other.

During the event, Jenni managed the attendees, the waiting room, the chat functionality and more! She ensured the event ran to time, with real engagement from everyone present. Jenni knows the business so well having worked with them for nearly 4 years, so responding to live chat questions and helping the presenters be at their best was a breeze!

The Outcome

Just Shutters had a superb Annual Conference. Jenni’s involvement took away the stress and worry of ‘how’ and allowed the presenters to simply focus on content, delivery and engaging with the audience.

Following the event, Jenni edited the recording and distributed as required, ensuring everybody had a great memento of the day!
