Meet the PA’s
Kate’s philosophy has always been to have great PAs working on wonderful clients. As crazy as it seems though, it’s actually quite difficult to find people that have the three attributes that make a fantastic PA; the range of experience, the real ‘let’s make it happen’ attitude and a truly sparkling personality.
In April 2011, after months of searching, the new addition was found… Madeline Davidson is in her early 30’s and a Kiwi at heart. She has responsibility for everything from client management to our own office admin, so yep – Kate’s a PA with a PA!!
Mady started her career, as most PAs do, in administration. In this small engineering firm, she learnt the basics of running a small office and the importance of customer service and efficiency. From here she moved onto the public health system in New Zealand as the Project Administrator for the Information Management System implementation. This is the point at which Mady found her natural ability for project planning and management, as well as a knack for writing clear and engaging internal communications and training sessions.
Much like Kate, at a natural cross roads in her career Mady took the opportunity to escape the routine and set off on an adventure to see the wonders of Eastern Asia, mainland Europe and Northern Africa. Close to a year later, when the thought of another 12 hour bus ride to arrive at a less than sumptuous youth hostel was not as appealing as it had once been, she set sail for the UK, instantly falling for the bright lights of London. It was here that Mady spent the next two years on a working visa immersing herself in the world of internal communications as PA to the Managing Director and working alongside a team of 12 editors and 6 designers with clients such as Shell, Excel Logistics, Sainsbury’s and Vauxhall Motors.
Much to her regret, two years passed quickly and before she knew it she was heading home to ‘The Land of The Long White Cloud’ where she quickly set about getting back into the publishing industry and within a few months was headhunted by a new and exciting company that managed the marketing materials for brand such as Westfield, CocaCola, Schenker Logistics and The Hilton. Mady grabbed the bull by the horns within this role and excelled as an Account Manager, combining all the skills of office management, attention to detail, customer service, time management and training.
This experience was invaluable when Mady’s partner, Robert, decided to set up his own digital print company in Auckland. The couple spent two and a half years refining and growing the business together to allow them the freedom to permanently relocate to England – now embracing their new found love affair with Dorset. After a year helping to stabilise the new business, Dorset Digital Print, Mady found herself longing for yet more variety and more customer contact… so in steps The Passionate PA. Giving Mady the opportunity to bring together her wealth of experience and enthusiasm, and a love for Dorset businesses, The Passionate PA is now set for even bigger things. For Mady, the day she met Kate was very much like the day Kate met Sarah… sometimes you just know it’s the start of something amazing!
